I am making my own wedding invitations and have done the wording for the guest invited to the whole day but am struggling on the wording for the evening guests- I want to tell them the church and the time and then the time for the evening but my Dad says he has never seen an invite with this on and that they just get invited to the evening part - what is the general consensus on this?

Something like " ----- request the company of ..... at their wedding ...(church details), and in the evening at (venue and time of evening celebration)" should do the trick - nothing ambiguous, people will know where they are going, and what time, and will be perfectly happy. have a great day.

Going through the same at the moment- I can only tell you what we did- We didn't "request" their company at the church but just told them where we are getting married (either verbally or a note inside the  invite) and they can come if they want- it is open to public anyway. Then just send them and "Evening Invite" only, with the wording along the lines that Andy mentioned- no confusion then??

Hope it helps
