Cheap Quartz Clock

I bought a Nako Quartz Clock today. It only cost £1 at Poundland, but the instructions for setting the time etc. are rubbish. I know it is only £1 but it is annoying not being able to use it. Does anyone have any easy to use instructions for this clock. Thanks

Press and hold a button til it changes or flashes .. then you can set. That's my guess.
After that, ring Mr Nako.

That's why they were a pound .. Because no-one has the faintest idea to set them!

I could maybe have it flown out to China for adjustment .. but something tells me it would come back with the wrong time on it!

Is/are there hidden buttons in any battery cover, maybe? Inside back?

There are 3 buttons, one says 'set', one says 'mode' and the other says 'date'. The thing is the instructions are so badly written, that when you follow them, it doesn't do what it says it should do. Very frustating

I bought a cheap alarm clock for £1 once. It lost about 3 hours a day - even with fresh batteries! It soon went in the bin! What do you expect for that price!

I would guess that you press 'Mode' to select the function you want to change - you might see the hours and minutes flashing Denis. If you then press 'Set' that should change the flashing figures for you to set the time. Once you have set the hours, then you press 'Mode' again to set the minutes, then the date etc.

why do people think that just because something is cheap that its ok and even accepted that it doesnt work??

I would take it back to the shop and ask the assistant to set the time. It is the store's responsibilty to ensure that all goods leaving their premises are in good working order. In the days when all electrical appliances came without a plug attached, I would take the selected item to the counter and say, "I'll buy that if you put a plug on". Never failed.

I looked in Poundland in Ipswich the other day, to see if I could find one of those clocks. (I thought that I'd be prepared to invest a quid, just to solve your problem). I couldn't see them on offer but I'll take another look when I go into town in the next day or two, so maybe I'll be able to figure it out before Christmas!

elvis i meant andy...and others in general really...who seem to think that if something doesnt cost much you should just shrug an think you almost deserve it for not paying much and cant complain if it doesnt wrok...yes you can...!

for a pound i dont expect a fancy clock...but i expect it to tell the time....not a fancy pen..but one that writes...etc

Thanks for all your replies. I have tried all suggestions but no luck!. Chris, I said it was Poundland, but the city where I bought it has at least 4 pound shops, so it could well have been one of the others.

I bought a cheap one in Tesco a few months back and its well worth the £4 I paid for it.
(ask santa for one)
