Dirty dishwasher

My dishwasher has started to not wash the dishes in one quarter of the lower tray, the front left The filter etcet is clean, there isn't any obstruction and the arms are not blocked and rotate freely. The dishes get wet and hot so there does seem to be some water getting to the dishes. Any suggestions please?

I used to work as waitress many moons ago .I used to do it six nights a week and hold down a day job 9 to 5 .I used to work nearly 80 hours a week in the summer seasons here but I never expected my Mum to run about after me .

Me too shaney, in the early 70's I worked in telephone exchange in St John's wood, living in Hendon, so had to get 2 buses there and then straight onto the Odean in Edgware as an ice cream girl (who could not walk backwards for the life of her!) which involved another 1 bus and 1 tube and then at middnight a tube back to Hendon, but I enjoyed it! I also had my own flat which I shared with my abusive partner who did nothing. But the thing is, there are not the buses here to get her at the right place at the right time (or earlier), she finished at 2am, not a bus in sight until 7am, so what can we do? Jobs here are scarce and at least she gets one. $ people after 1 job at the moment. Of course when she is out she has to get her own way home!

My parents never ran around after me, mum was always lurking waiting to catch me as I crept in late! Neither of them drove.

Neti you do whatever youfeel is right for your daughter. I brought Steady up on my own and wanted him to be independant from me so proably that is why I don't see a deal of him. When he was young I did give him lifts to Football etc. But as soon as he was old enough I treated him to driving lessons. then he was away. Admitted he didn't lave here til he was 30 but he did't need me to Chauffer him about. But I do understand your concern for Hija. I feel if I had a daughter I might be the same...

My son never wanted me to run around after him, I would have loved to sometimes, but he was fiercely independepent from boarding school at 11 onwards. However, we came in useful as a chaffeurs on occasions, but not after he could drive.

Glad your leg is better Shaney. I have bites now on the bottom of my legs and am being cautious as the skin is very thing in that area and I am wary of cellulitis.

Shaney, I waitressed too whilst I was at college. Started at 8.30am every Saturday and finished at 7.30pm in a really busy all day grill, Also had to get drinks from the bar. Did it during college holidays too. However, I always managed to go out on a Saturday night afterwards even though I was totally worn out. I wanted the money!!!!

Hello all, another busy day as I got an email from bt about the new broadband installation which is happening wednesday and it's a bit more complicated than it first seemed, furniture has to be moved and much vacuuming done, never mt strong point. Sis has been a star with the helping.

Yes I think with a daughter I would probably be hotching around worrying what she was up to .
Sorry if I came across as uncaring Neti .....of course in our day it was all different and it is a different scene where you live .
Mother did brandish the broom with me at times though !
I always had the stern warning from my Dad and the brothers floating about as I was growing up.
And of course my parents were older and I worked to help them out and my Dad was very ill so I had to do it .
I'm sorry I sounded so offhand .I feel awful now .

For goodness sake try not scratch Lofty ..I wouldn't wish that bloody cellulitis on my worst enemy .I'm so terrified of being bitten these days or knocking myself on the leg .Keep your legs moisturised all the time .If the skin is thin then that's where it can start with the slightest little infection .

Silly shaney, don't be daft, we do run around after her, when she first got this job we didn't and the poor girl had to wait until 3am to get the disco bus and pay £5 to get home via all the discos on the island, so took about 1½hrs to finally get home, it was ridiculous, so then Mr N had to do it. She's not allowed my car too often cos she's been done for drinkdriving (unfortuately it was the next day and she was only just over, but over nevertheless) and we never know when she is going off on one! I know I spoil her, so don't you apologise My friends have daughters that go to Oz to pick fruit etc, I wish mine would. But she has kept me young I have to admit, without her I would either be a lush propping up a bar, or sitting in a rocking chair knitting with arthritic fingers!!

I have to laugh cos when I reached 18, I didn't leave home, my mum did, says it all really!!

hija didn't go out last night but I had turned off the phones and she couldn't get in touch for a lift home so had to hang around and wait for disco bus, ha ha, we were fast asleep and then the window banged cos she didn't have a key! I would like one night's undisturbed sleep!!

Mr N not working today, so I am still in bed cos there's nothing I can do with him under my feet. Hope he goes to golf this afternnon, and its hija's day off, this house is way too small for three grown-ups!!

Wet here and I am going back to bed. I have been really sleeping badly over the last week and am having nightmare galore, so I feel done in!! Am meeting a friend at 1.00, so am trying to get a couple of hours shuteye. My eyes are so baggy that I could do the weekly shop!!
