can anyone tell me the monthly cost for each of the above for one person in a 2 bed mid terrace house? No fancy appliances and careful with heating as shift worker so only used when needed not on time. GCH. Combi boiler.

You can only do this yourself Echokilo,take readings at beginning and end of month,convert to Kwh and then work out cost on your tariff rating,of course this won't take into effect any discounts.

The 'length of the string' depends on the quantity of insulation in the property, the ambient temperature inside and the required temperature inside.

I pay £100 for both a month and it is too much (I'm always in credit) , I'm home alot and I don't have a combi boiler they are much cheaper to run. so maybe work on £75 a month if that.
