When I read the title I thought you drove a Popemobile.
Isopropyl alcohol will work every time and do no damage to any paint or plastic - the difficulty is getting hold of a small quantity in the UK (easy in lots of other places). You could try your local chemist who may be able to advise you, alternatively check at paint stores, auto parts suppliers, etc. next time you are abroad. Buy the smallest size you can get (sometimes as much as a litre) because there are lots of uses apart from dissolving sticky glue, such as spot remover (felt/fibre/ball point pen ink, etc., etc.).

Maplins sell a Servisol isopropyl spray < http://www.maplin.co....opropyl-alcohol-28994 >.
Tambourine is right, but be sure you don't melt the polycarbonate shell.
If there's any adhesive residue then rubbing with white spirit (turps substitute) will remove it.
If your car has a plastic body completely ignore Docspock's suggestion. Nail Varnish (Acetone) will dissolve plastic very quickly
Smearing sticky labels with cooking oil and leaving for 24 hours to work will remove them without harming the plastic.
