I had BG install a the new boiler and hot water tank just over a year ago.

I had no idea there was a problem with condensing boilers drainpipe freezing and shutting down the system. I accepted the offer BG made and the installation suggestions they recommended

The more people I talk to, I am finding a whole bunch of them are aware of the problem.....................but..............
....
no one want to fix it.

I was thinking that lagging the pipe would help, but there must be something better. BG engineer hinted that there is a modification available...............but................it costs quite a bit.

I've got a disabled wife and son and I am well into my 70s, so, the last thing I need is to be without heating and hot water especially in winter. And even though we are on the vulnerable house list at BG, it was 72 hours before they got engineer to me -- the first visit was same day, but the engineer wasn't too sure why boiler was cutting off.

Would like to hear any ideas or suggestions

Thanks for listening

If the drain was connected internally to the waste outlet .. you would be laughing.
