I have a '59 plate Fabia 1.2 HTP2 from new, which, with mixed driving, has given me 42 mpg - is that good or bad? However, in the last 2 months it's gone down to about 35. No temp. gauge on this model, but a blue temp. light comes on when you start up in the morning, but this now takes a long time to go "off" .So is the problem that the engine not warming up properly?
My service manager doesn't seem very interested ( still 18 months to go on warranty)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you have another Skoda dealer in your area ? if so try there, doesn't sound good to me.Ron ( very pleased & satisfied Fabia driver)
35 mpg seems excessive for a modern 1200cc engine.
I can get often whilst commuting in my mercedes 2.7 diesel. I have had 50mpg on motorway journeys.
Consider having it checked over.
