Clubcard Reward Help

Please can someone help me! I'm being driven mad!

I have £48 worth of vouchers, I want to use these in the rewards section for Select Hotels. When I go to the part where is brings up the Select Hotels page it asks you to enter how much in vouchers you would like to use so I selected £45 (has to be in increments of £5). I go to the next page to order them and confirm my address, then it asks me enter voucher codes and won't let me proceed without entering something, although it shows my selected £45 on the right hand side. I can't work out what I'm supposed to be doing. Can someone help a big thicko please!?

Also meant to say that the £45 should turn into £135 worth of rewards to use towards the hotel if that makes any difference?

Do you mean the vouchers the send you in the monthly statement? I have this months but I always chuck them away. Are you supposed to enter all the voucher codes you have accrued over time?

well, I'm not sure what vouchers you are on about, but if you need a voucher code maybe you need to have the voucher in front of you, or is there a code that covers a certain type of voucher? where do you get the vouchers from/

Probably. We take vouchers at work and have to enter the code numbers into the system. It must be the same with reward vouchers as well I guess.

Each voucher has an online code in the bottom right corner. You have to enter these codes as proof that you do actually have the voucher. Been a while since I did it but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

OK, so I don't have all the vouchers any more (some of them are nearly 2 years old) but I can see all the codes on my account online. Is it those I need to enter?

so how will the hotel claim their money back if you aren't taking them the vouchers?

I would say so.

Like I say it's proof that your vouchers are valid ; otherwise people would be on the site claiming they had £200 worth of vouchers at a time.

You exchange your clubcard vouchers on the Tesco site for reward vouchers which are posted to you. You then use those reward vouchers when you book the hotel. Or that's how I understand it anyway.

Thanks Yinyang. It seems a little odd to do that as they all show on my account on the clubcard site so I don't know how I could pretend to have the vouchers but I'll give it a try tomorrow. I've got about 50 vouchers and can't be bothered to write them all down at the moment. :o)

Yikes, that's a lot.
Perhaps it's just to show which of your vouchers you've used up - kind of the cyber equivalent of the the shop assistant scoring through it with a black marker - so they can keep track of what you've still got and ensure you don't try to use any of the vouchers twice.

I don't understand what you mean when you say you chuck the vouchers away - these vouchers are worth money! You either spend them in the shop against your shopping, or you exchange them for the Rewards at 3 x their face value. You can't redeem them if you haven't got them.
When I've exchanged my cash vouchers for Rewards, you go to the Tesco site and enter the codes from each of the cash vouchers to apply for the Rewards vouchers, which then come through the post, and you take the Rewards vouchers to the hotel or wherever and exchange them as part payment.
My current vouchers are valid until 2013 so any you had that were 2 years old were probably still in date.
They won't let you exchange anything if you don't still have the vouchers in front of you!

Tesco does indeed work in odd ways. I looked at the rates of the hotel on it's website but when I enquired about it on the phone and said I would be using Tesco rewards to pay (well, part pay now), the price doubled! I've been so excited about it but it's seemingly quite a lot of hassle to get it all sorted. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end though.

We've used ours in restaurants, all we had to do was give them the vouchers when we were given the bill - there was no question of being charged more because we were paying in vouchers. That would be a bit of a swizz!

Boxtops, they keep a list of all your unused vouchers on the site in 'my account' so I can see and still use the vouchers that were sent to me two years ago. I throw them away because I knew I wanted to save them up so didn't see any point in keeping the physical vouchers as they are listed online.

We recently booked a weekend away using our Tesco vouchers. As you say, you pay full price at the hotel of your choice.
I still had all my paper vouchers and had to enter each code individually from each voucher. I guess you must do the same from "My Account". Maybe if you opened two windows you could copy and paste the voucher numbers.

You will need to enter each voucher's code and as Graham suggests you can copy & paste them in from the Tesco Clubcard site.

Thanks for all the help! I've got it all sorted now. There werent' quite as many vouchers as I had remembered so just copied and pasted from one page to the other and my hotel vouchers will be winging their way to me soon. Yay! Can't wait for a few days in Dublin!

Kathy - Fraid I'm not going on Sunday. BF holds two season tickets but was only allocated one seat at Wembley between both tickets so he is going on his own.
