This unit comprises a scart lead which goes into a small box which has a switch in/out, then Video in/out - Audio left - Audio Right.

It's a Scart to RCA audio/video adapter ... and if you didn't buy it for a specific purpose then you don't need to use it for anything.
I common use would be for connecting a camcorder with RCA/phono out to a TV that only had SCART sockets
