Am I right in thinking any protection plan taken out when purchasing a appliance from comet before there closing is now worthless as have found I had 2 of these one on a wasning machine the other on a fridge/freezer.

Generally these protection plans are a waste of money anyway.

Places like Comet encourage you to take them out because they are very profitable as few people claim so they make a lot of money on them.

They may not be worthless though as they are often managed by third party companies, not Comet themsleves.

Have contacted the warranty no. but used 01594863000 in leu of the 0844 no and they gave me a Comet no which is still operating for warranty repairs on 08448540943 (which I have not been able to find a alternative no yet).

They are worthless, not because of Comet closing but because they never pay out anyway.
