Just Taken Travel Ins. With Saga

Taken travel ins, with SAGA ,cheaper than Thomson but still expensive, we have medical probs. so hard to find decent ins. anybody can recommend a company ?

Topdog - got a really good deal earlier in the year , between taking out the policy and going on holiday I had a heart attack , informed them , they added that onto the policy with my other pre existing problems = no extra charge .

I don't suppose there's be any need for extra charges, keithlbw - after all they've just reduced the number of things they're insuring you against, for the same cost to you.

It depends whether you want annual insurance or short stay, how old you are and whether you want to cover existing medical conditions. Saga are one of the most expensive though.

I tried able2travel for my Mum and they couldn`t help at all. They are just a broker and they don`t deal with that many specialist companies. If you have a complicated medical history, then goodtogoinsurance are quite likely to insure you where others won`t.

Avanti are good. I have used them many times for my Mum. If you have medical conditions you have two choices. Choose to include cover for them or choose to exclude them. If you have more than one condition, you can`t pick and choose which you want to cover - it`s all or nothing and that is an industry standard. So it`s just a case of looking around for the best price for the age of the insured.

I am so used to insurance companies saying aaah we dont cover you for that (past bowel cancer ) that I just hold my breth and go uninsured.
