I`d like to get Insurance that would cover funeral costs and maybe a sum to leave my children,not got a lot of spare can this be achieved ?

yup these policies are everywhere

You basically need life insurance ( NOT term insurance ) for around £5k
and the premiums arent steep

a few are available without medical exam

and you can even get them as a clerk told me if you have a diagnosis of cancer BUT then you have to contribute for 24 m before they will allow a claim

not really relevant to the q 'is it possible to get funeral cost insurance'

more relevant to how much will it cost.... altho some if you contribute for a few years you know like twenty then they continue the insurance without further fee

i`m 58 with a few illnesses,none life threatening,except maybe angina.

I asked the age because I think the answer is very different for a 21 year old for example.

My suggestion would be to look at the products offered by Age UK. You can also phone them for advice and guidence on the most appropriate solution.
