Travelling to Europe for 2 weeks soon.

Any seasoned travellers out there able to advise on insurance? Single trip or annual multi trip? Absolute essentials? Things not to bother with?

Tips and pointer, please.

It depends on how many trips you are planning - we normally get annual if we are planning 2 trips or more off the Ireland otherwise we get a single trip.
Plug adaptor to plug your chargers in as many hotels have not yet updated to data plugs.

Well at the moment we are only planning one, Islay. But I imagine that if we enjoy ourselves and dont actually kill each other we might be looking at going again in Feb.

I always take my own hairdryer. The hotel ones are usually useless.

Get a quote for both and see what the price difference is - if its only a few quid get the annual one

Buy some luggage weighting scales, unless you are travelling Business Class. Then, you don't have to worry about the weight of the suitcases.

We were insured with the company contained in the link and had to cancel a holiday at the last minute, they refused to pay out because of proof of illness but after I obtained some more information they were brilliant to deal with and settled promptly and in full.

Luggage scales - excellent idea.

Bazile, we didnt actually decide anything. I looked at the places recommended on my thread and was in difficulty making a decision. So I said to him "I dont care, just book it". So he booked Tenerife. Hotel looks cracking. Am actually very easily pleased.

Instead of luggage scales try standing on your bathroom scales and whilst on them reset the scale to zero, then stand on them with your suitcase.
