Sometimes we never hear the outcome of interesting stories like this.
This was a good example - the chap who found £30000 in his loft

Remember that one.
That looks like a joke one to me.

Newly registered member by the name of Lofty posts that then disappears.
it was mine ! I went back with a big suitcase and 2 burly minders...wonder if lofty ever escape those shackles...the hot water tank seemed quite a cosy place....
vaguely remember reading somewhere the £75 cheque thing was a scam..don't recall the details though

sorry for not getting back with an update, the cheque was sent from nationwide uk insurance, its cashed, i emailed nationwide beforehand and told them i did nt want this £75 as it would not be enough to cover my flights and hotels etc .
i have no idea why they gave me this amount and again i told them to scrap my claim as i didnt want to go ahead with it as they would not accept my video evidence.
also.....i was in bugaria last week, my bags were delayed from amsterdam to sofia....therefore i had only one set clothes and it was very hot ...i went to buy new clothes total approx 120 pounds but i still have not put in for a claim for that ...i have all reciepts and proof my bag was delayed .....

do you think i should claim this £120 or still let it go ?
Ah- so you had made an insurance claim. We wrongly assumed you had no idea what it could be for. I still don't understand why yohave cashe dthe cheque but withdrawn the claim but at least we know the cheque was not part of a scam
Regarding the £75, how much had you claimed? Maybe there was a policy excess.
I assume that going by the dates this original matter is a completely separate to the claim you are now considering making for £120
//// Lofty posts that then disappears. ////

Possibly being detained at Her Majesty's pleasure.
^ sounds like a tall story to me
The clock is ticking on this one which, like Lofty23's, could be a real wind-up. I say this because of the way the pendulum is swinging from a 'no-claim situation' to one of a possible liability be resolved with Insurers.

I'm now heading for cover. !!

Hans.
You don't buy Jack's explanation then?

They offered £75, he declined but they've sent it anyway.

The last paragraph is a new and unrelated (to the original) issue.
