Hi,
Just bought a van (second hand) and needed to tax and insure it before I pick it up.

I paid the tax but as yet the ownership documents haven’t been filled out or sent off and I’m now worried I’ve insured it in the other persons name.

Although I did it today it has backed dated it to 1st Jan so even more confused.

When I pick it up next week do I just need to send in the green slip to DVLA and the road tax I just got is OK or have I done it in the wrong order?

By the way I got the insurance for it today as well because it isn’t stored in a secure area and as I’ve paid for it wanted to make sure it was all legal.

Thanks

I think you'll be OK. Tax runs from the start of the month you take it out. Just send the docs to DVLA as instructed on the V5.

OK thanks.

It’s all changed since I last bought a car and I get awfully bogged down in getting everything wrong usually lol.
