The hinges on my son's window have broken. There is a 10 year warranty on the window, but the company are not producing this window any more. He has been told by the management company (he lives in a block of flats) that he needs a whole new window at a cost of £2500. Seems a bit harsh as the window is perfect, just needs new hinges. Surely the warranty must cover this. Any thoughts?

What sort of window costs £2.000 ?

it's be cheap to get an engineering shop to make new hinges based on the old ones.

He lives on the 4th floor so it involves a cherry picker to put a new frame in before the new window can be fitted. Seems mad as the window and frame are ok
