My niece bought a new cooker two years ago and took a 5 year warranty out (Currys).

Cooker needs 3 parts as a rep came out and told her - this was about 6 weeks ago, guy keeps saying on the phone - oh the part hasn't arrived.

Well I told her that she is entitled to get a replacement cooker cos she had it insured. Is that correct.

it is with mine, i have a warranty with Currys and they said that if it can't be repaired i would get a replacement cooker,
I would think not - she will likely have to accept a repair. Only if a repair is not possible e.g. parts no longer available would a replacement cooker be an option but you would need to check the small print.
dave is right you do need to read the smallprint.

right but don't think she should be waiting 6 weeks for a part
no she shouldn't. I would threaten them with the ombudsman, like trading standards and see what they say
An independent repairer would likely move quicker (may have a stock of spare parts) but you would have to pay & probably not be able to recover the costs from the insurer.
Have you thought about contacting CAB?
I had an issue with Currys years ago - eventually got Trading Standards involved - that got a result!
I find Currys regularly awful, they will be blaming Covid without doubt.
I'm not sure why people even consider Currys for any purchase...customer service at its worst - always has been.
Use PC World instead.
^yes, and get the same level of "care"....
only if thepart was unavailable.
pssst....it was a joke......they're the same shop.
psst...yes, I know - that's why I said what I said.
