I have two insurance policies for house and contents and boiler but neither will accept a claim for a leaking boiler replacement. Water damage yes but boiler replacement no chance. F’ing ridiculous!!!!!

No house insurance will replace a boiler because it breaks down - if you were told that then you were mis-sold.
agree with Archibaldy,

how are you Rich47, long time no see.
Insurers don’t replace stuff because it’s old or worn out. If they did no I’ve would ever have to buy anything.
you can get boiler insurance......
That’s for breakdowns, emmie. I don’t think it covers you to buy a new one when the old one finally conks out.
i don't have one so don't know, suggest he contacts British Gas
or Scottish power?

Good morning Emmie - as my grandfather would have said in his Doric I am chavin awa. Thanks for asking
My toaster broke down the other week, is the insurance responsible for that? Think it through.
You're tempting fate with that comment TTT. In the last few weeks you've supported Boris and Liz; now they're both toast and your toaster is broken. Coincidence?
I think more info is needed.

My boiler was installed in 1996 & with occasional servicing works perfectly. If it developed a leak and proved to be irreparable would I be justified in trying to claim for a new boiler from my house insurance? Hm...
You can get insurance for white goods, not sure if that covers a boiler but I got a new tumble drier out of it and I hadn't paid enough to cover it.
Your insurance policy details should explain what is not covered. One should always read the small print.
As others have said, home insurance will cover any damage caused by the breakdown but not the item. You would have to go to a Company like Domestic and General who cover repairs and repacement if not repairable. I believe they do cover for boilers.
