Argos Mobile Phone Insurance

We bought our daughter a mobile phone for Christmas. It was half price (original price �150). We'd like to get it insured through Argos, but will we have to pay for what the phone would have cost, or what we paid for it?

Usually goods are insured for replacement - so if you ever need to claim you will get a replacement phone whether that model is then �10 or �200.

Check with your household insurance though - mine is insured for loss and damage on my existing insurance.
my house hold insurance cost me �10 extra a year to cover our phones, i find that insurance through the provider a total rip off.

I have had this type of insurance and had to use it once, and found out there was a �50 excess charge and then they never actually agreed the insurance in the end so ended up out of pocket with out a phone! They are an expensive con
I thought you could only insure it through Argos when you brought it. the only downside of adding it to your home insurance is that if she loses it you will have to make a claim and pay an excess which could increase your premium on the renewal of the insurance
