Insurance difficulties / Probation order

I am experiencing difficulties renewing my home insurance now that i have a have a probation order in place and ashamedly a criminal record. I have informed my car insurance company and they have indicated they will not entertain me at the renewal...
I am panicing a little as i am unsure whether i can now obtain insurance.....possibly i will experience mortgage application trouble also.
Does anyone know of insurance companies who will entertain me given my situation.!
