insurance for car
can someone answer me this question? my girlfriend recently decided to take out her own insurance as she was under her mother's for 3 years. during that time the car was maliciously damaged and a claim put through. does she tell the company that she has had a previous claim even though the insurance was never in her name-she was only a named driver on the policy. one insurance company has already told me that because it was her mother's policy is doesn't count as a previous claim against her, then they asked her to send them details of the claim. so i don't know, can someone clear this up thanks in advance

However, if your girlfriend was the driver in charge (or the last driver) before the car was vandalised, then the claim will have been registered with her as the driver. If she wasn't the last driver, then she can truthfully answer 'no' to the previous claims question.
