Just spoke to insurance company and they have said i am covered but if it is stolen they will ask for MOT certificate which ran out. They said it would be difficult to value the car without it : - (
Well that makes sense - if it is stolen and not recovered they can't examine it to assess the value.

If it is recovered it may be in a far worse state than when it was stolen.

However, there is a recognised value for cars without MOTs so that is the price they will offer.

Whilst it is offoad use a crooklock and take some essential part out so it can't be driven away - the battery perhaps.
Ensure youmake AN APPOINTMENT with the MOT garage BEFORE you drive it so you don't run the risk of being caught without MOT.
