how can i find out when my house was built for insurance purposes??

can you not have a guess....is it a victorian house? if so guess 1898, if its modern new council era, say 1936 and if its new build, go for 2001.....if you cant find out, they will be unlikely to do any research into it...
If you do not have the deeds the bank will....so phone them.

Or solicitors maybe.
