i had a rover 220 which i had 6 years no claims bonus, then i took out a second policy with the same insurance company on a mitsubishi colt so they duplicated the no claims bonus on to it. then after 6 month i cancelled the policy on the rover and kept the mitsubishi one going, then after a year i sold the mitsubishi and kept the same policy running and changed it to a seat ibiza now that my renewal is due it says i have only 2 years no claims how can this be i cant get no sense out of them they just say i only have 2 years no claims on that car

I think the arguement may be that they gave you a discount equivalent to 6 years bonus - not 6 years no claims bonus.

Why not cancel the exsting policy and take out another one using the 6 years bonus from the policy you cancelled on the rover.

Be aware that no claims bonus is usually only available if it was earned on a policy cancelled less than 2 years ago. To be on th esafe side get quotes before your do anything.
simple give them the policy number of your rover and ask them to transfer your bonus over to your Ibiza, if they do not do this then get alternative quotes elsewhere using your bonus from your rover. then you have a spare 2 year bonus should you buy another car.
