Many charities for those suffering from disabilities or medical conditions carry a link to this broker (Able2Travel) on their websites:
http://www.ch-travelcare.co.uk/

I posted that link for someone a few weeks ago and they kindly took the time to post a reply, stating that Able2Travel had provided by far the lowest quote that they'd found.

However, on another thread, someone recently posted to say that (for their particular needs) MIA had provided a better quote than Able2Travel could:

Age Concern's own travel insurance might be worth a look:

InTune might also be able to provide a reasonable quote. (The company is wholly-owned by the charity, Help the Aged):

Many people find Saga to be relatively expensive but they might still be worth trying:

(They can't be expensive for everyone. They provide my motoring insurance for a tiny fraction of the quotes offered by most other insurers!).

Chris, Saga do my car and were the cheapest last time I looked (of course, I should probably check more often) but their travel insurance has always seemed expensive.
Always remember you get what you pay for and check the actual levels of cover on each policy before you decide. A policy may look lke good value but there are real variations in coverage for e.g. epatriation costs and/or cancellation due to pre-existing conditions.
i work for the post office...our trav ins is provded by Fortis who are very good.
I phoned to get a policy for a lady recently who had a cancer op ( and was given the all clear) 4 weeks beforehand.
she was quoted the normal price, but would not be covered for illness caused by the effects of the operation.

not sure if that helps, but may be worth a try
