my son and i were in a crash the other driver drove into the back of me he was charged us two have whip lash and poped collar bone .does my insurance company claim for personal injury or do i have to claim myself.thanks

If your motor insurance includes legal cover you can claim through that. If not you will have to do it yourself.

your household insurance may also cover legal matters. or not! (mine does)
Sounds to me as if liability will not be an issue. If you don't have any insurance that will cover a claim for PI try a no win no fee lawyer.
If you did not buy uninsured loss/legal expenses cover with your motor policy you may find that you can buy an "after the event" cover - it doesnt have to be with the company that your motor insurance is with so if you dont already use one try a local broker who may be able to help. It should be hugely cheaper than a no win no fee solicitor
you just have inform and accident to your insurance company with the third party details and accident details. Your insurance company will be provide
