I handed my notice in last Friday, which was the Good Friday (public holiday). Due to the length of time I've been with my current employer, I only neeed to serve one week's notice. As I handed my notice in last Friday morning (via an e-mail to my line manager), I should finish this Thursday. My employer is saying that as I handed my notice in on a public holiday, the notice period doesn't commence until the following Tuesday. Therefore I'm being told that my notice period ends next Monday. Is that correct? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, wrong topic?...
I think you already posted this. You can't count days when the workplace is shut. How can he find a replacement when the place is closed?
