Is he being treated for depression?

Go to a comparison site and fill in the details with and without mentioning it. Then you'll see the difference.

at the moment he is on medication for depression but thats basically because he's got another medical condition thats taking 3 years to fix and the doctors are still messing him about

he's in daily pain and on so many tablets for the pain but hopefully the doctors will soon get this sorted and he'll be of the depression tablets and pain killers but until the doctors get it sorted he's just having to cope best he can

he still manages to hold down his job and it isn't a problem for him to work
you must make sure that when you get quotes - and take out a policy you declare EVERY single condition he has.. you dont want to find yourself in a situation where they refuse to pay out because you didnt tell them something.

Honesty is the best policy here!
these insurance companies are little Hitlers numnum. my OH has type 2 Diabetes which is well under control, but they are penalizing us for that by asking for a triple the amount payment,
a license to print money!
I don't think it will affect you getting life insurance. Your premiums will probably be higher though.

yeah, thats what we're worrying about

my cousin was killed whilst building their house and the insurance folk never paid up as they looked into every little detail then becuase he didn't own the tool that killed him they never paid. leaving his pregnant wife with a huge mortgage

my OH's work pay out a big lump sum if anything happens to him so we were just thinking about insuring me since i would be classed as 'normal' i hope!! would that be a bad idea not insuring us both
OMG thats awful about your cousin and his family NUMNUM... how very sad.. and then to be lumbered with all the money problems too! They are sharks and really will find any reason at all to not pay out!!
Question Author
yes, it was terrible how they will go to any level to find one thing that they can get out of paying.

you'd would think its bad enough losing your husband in your house whilst building it but to then not get a penny to get the house built and then left with a huge mortgage

got a quote (spoke to an actual person) and we can get it for £13.20 a month for the both of us from AXA better than i thought

we had a flat before and got a financial advisor to sort all that out and we were paying £58 a month and that was without telling all
that seems very cheap to me - how much does it give you?
I have never been able to get critical illness cover owing to long term condition, but i was still able to get death cover
Your OH will have to make sure he declares the depression and the insurance company will probably want to take a report from his GP - that's what happening to me at the moment, and I am taking out a policy to cover my mortgage. Some 40 years ago I had a period of clinical depression and unfortunately I've been rated up on it ever since for life cover, 25% above the normal quoted premium last time. I am hoping that this time the GP's report will show I have had no recurrence for many many years and they will treat it as closed, but I am not hopeful.
Sometimes you just have to ask yourself if a deal is too good to be true - your Axa quote comes into that category. CHeck and double check, put it all in writing and make sure they confirm they have got it - otherwise you aint got the cover.
