Under the title "CONTENTS" in my home insurance policy it says "The basis of cover is accidental damage" . They are charging me an arm and a leg for this . I have being paying this for years and i have had no claims. Do your readers have any views on this? Is is really worth it. I am careful not to damage thing and if i do wreck a table or chair i just go to the dump.
Its your call at the end of the day. I always buy accidental damage as it is not that expnsive when compared to the cost of an accident. If you don't think you'll need it then why bother paying for it? Consider what it would cost if you dropped something on your carpet and stained it. Would cost hundreds to replace it.
We were glad we had accidental damage cover when our immersion heater sprung a leak and caused £3000 worth of damage to our carpets and skirting boards.....
