Adding named driver
I'm thinking off adding my Dad to my insurance policy to see if it brings down the premium. He hasn't had an insurance policy on a car for a number of years but he does have motorbike insurance. Would that mean it is unlikely putting his name on my policy would have any positive effect on my premium? Do they look at car/motorbike insurance differently?

With regard to Chocolat Chips link on "fronting", most insurers have now wised up to this, and most the decent insurers will now quote the same amount for the younger driver, whether they are the main driver or the named driver.
The ones who do differentiate and who dont ask the question are the ones who will charge less but will be more likely to turn down a claim in the event of an accident.
