Hi 18 months ago we bought a sofa from DFS, my husband took out the insurance to cover sickness and redundancy, he pays so much a month for this. Back in October 2010 he was made redundant a week later was told that he had got Lung cancer. This is where our problem starts, back in 2008 he had Liver cancer he had operation to remove part of the Liver then had chemo, he then returned back to work Jan 2009 it was the October of that year we bought the sofa. In December he put in a claim for redundancy from the insurance company, they got confirmation from his works to say that he had been made redundant, then they asked for proof that he was signing on at the Job centre and because he is not signing on as he is sick with cancer, they say he is not entitled to claim because he was sick befor with cancer, but our argument is he has claimed under the redundancy not sickness. They have got us it is just so sad he is so sick money is tight and they just will not help. My husband is 64 this year. Is there any thin we can do thankyou WHF

But I would suggest that you repost at a busier time - like this evening when some of the more knowledgeable people are around (no offence to anybody else!) And I would put something like "insurance problem" or "legal problem" in the title to attract attention of the right people. Good luck.
