Millions of drivers in the UK are paying too much for their motor insurance because they do not bother to search out the best motor insurance quotes.

Research has shown that 15 million motorists renew their motor insurance every year without searching for another motor insurance quote.

"In both the home and motor insurance markets the majority of people feel that they are happy with their policy but as they have not looked around for any alternatives a better option could be just a phone call away," said a senior finance analyst.

"The reality is that unless they have made a claim they cannot really assess just how good their provider or policy really is."
