Advice for would-be IT contractors

This is not a question.

If you are considering doing IT contracting then get a passport, and/or a photo driving licence.

I am currently trying to get on a major rollout contract, and because I have neither of the above I cannot get clearance, as they require photo ID and will only accept these documents.

I wish someone had given me this advice when I started contracting.
