they are looking for a person with excellent phone manner for a start, and so speak clearly and confidently and try to respond positvely, that is why it is a phone interview. Try not to waffle with pointless details and have your CV to hand incase they ask about your work history. get an idea about British gas first, google it and look at their latest add campaign.
oooh I second what Dot said! Good luck.
I agree too - good luck with the interview!!
when i had mine for Scottish Power it was just
general questions such as
a) cust calls to say they can smell gas
b) cust has no power
c) how would you deal with abusive cust

imagine british gas will be similar

good luck

I've had these interviews before and been asked a short scenario question, such as "what would you do if a customer phoned up but you could not access their account information" etc (that was quite lame sorry but can't think of a better example at the moment!).

If you've done this line of work before, think about difficult calls you've handled (or other people!), also think about when you've gone out of you're way to help someone, how you did it etc whilst adhering to call centre targets.

Think I've waffled but hope this helps.

Good luck x
