Can a solicitor trained in America work in Britain?

Hi. My sister went living in USA a few years back and is currently at law school there. She wants to know where she would stand as an American solicitor if she wanted to move back to England. Any help is much appreciated.

She will be in good stead for a legal rep, but as for practicing law she will need to do a conversion course.

Do we share one single law, criminal or civil? I don't think so.
As a matter of interest, an American attorney is not automatically qualified to appear or act in all the states of the union, let alone practise in England and Wales !
