driving licence

hey there was just reading sum questions posted and i noticed that somebody commented that you need a drivers licence to become a funeral director. i am in the process of applying for a trainee post at my local funeral parlour but have not yet got a full driving licence...could somebody maybe clear this up a wee bit for me before i go ahead and apply......

Can't see it being a hard and fast rule - but clearly drivers and support staff need a clean driving license as this general brochure from the NAFD makes clear.

It is going to depend on the size of the business you are applying to - because in small practices there will be an overlap of the various roles to be carried out.

You would have to learn many skills after taking up the post.

Driving would just be one of them, surely.

If the company want you to drive they could pay for any driving lessons you need; wait till they suggest same.

Since you're only a trainee, you have a long way to go before you can race with a hearse - good luck ;)
