Where can i advance to with Admin experience?

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could advise me on what sort of careers i could be looking at to improve myself using my Admin background???

I've been given the opportunity by my employer to have a think about what i would like to do improve myself, and they will assist me with paying for courses etc, but i can't really think of how you can improve on a pretty full on admin role that i do already. I was thinking maybe HR, but apart from that i cant think of anything else??

Any ideas??

Gosh in today's financial climate lucky you!! What do you really really like about your job? Being with people? solving problems? using tech? What would improve the way that your firm/department functions? What roles/jobs could you/would you pass to someone less qualified/senior than you? Where is your firm/department struggling?

The great thing about admin is that you can take your skills into any sphere of business you fancy - legal, accounting, medical, local government, private sector - you name it, they need admin staff, and most have have specialist admin routes. You can go through from NVQs and diplomas to full-blown MBAs.

I'd suggest you think about what aspect of the work you like best and what sort of business you'd like to be in(although you're more likely to keep your employer on side if it's their specialist area) and then ask your employer if they can identify some likely training routes for you.
