The 'resource' you need is someone who knows what they are doing, like a conference organiser !! Hallo - here I am!
I assume that you already have a topic and speaker(s) and have an idea of the number of people who would be interested in attending?
Will you be selling registrations to delegates?
First book a venue of a suitable size and location with the requisite facilities.
Publicise your event with dates, location, programme and speakers.
Give 8 weeks notice for people to have a space in their diary.
