Has anyone any experience of Correspondence Courses?

I'm applying to University in the next couple of months and one of the requirements of the course I want to study is a diploma in the chosen field. Due to work commitments etc I have been looking into studying the diploma through a correspondence course - has anyone any experience of these - are they the real deal and are the qualifications you gain the same as those you would gain if you were to go and study at a college.

If you study with the Open University, or if you take your course under the auspices of a British university, then your qualification should be sound and recognisable.

If you're looking to study with one of the more commercial organisations (ICS, for example), then you should be aware that course costs don't usually cover external exam fees. In fact you may well be expected to make the examination arrangements yourself.
