example this week free range chicken was 13.52 per kg and to order it had to be done in kg.so i put 0.6 as thought it was roughly half.nope it wasn't it was roughly a quarter.ie 2 little chicken breasts the size of a sparrow.i am learning but i think if i had a simple excel chart i would be better educated????

Two pounds is 907g
so 0.6 kg should have got you about 1lb 4oz
Also,
1 pint is 568ml
1 gallon in 4.5l (ish - can't remember exactly)
1 foot is 305mm (0.305m)
1 yard is 915mm (0.915m)
Which is just the reverse conversion of previously
so.. to answer you're original question...
If you have excel cell A1 as your imperial measurement, enter the following formula in B1 to give you it in metric
=A1x0.454
Which will convert from pounds to kgs (not pounds and ounces though - that'd get more complicated)
