learn spanish

Hello - I would like to learn Spanish (i did it at GCSE and got and A) so I have some background albeit over a decade ago! I've heard Rosetta Stone is good but its really expensive. Are there any cheaper versions that anyone can recommend? I dont want to enrol in a class i want to learn from home. Thanks.

Have you thought about your local library , they may have language tapes etc which they will let borrow.
Well worth a try at little or no cost.

Brenda's absolutely right, and in addition you may find online forums where you can converse in Spanish to practise - such as http://how-to-learn-any-language.com/forum/def ault.asp (not recommending this specific one, just showing these sites exist!)

Hola Buenas Tardes westyorksman, I have found a number of free courses on-line. Some are quite good and others not. Just go to google and type in free Spanish courses. I bought a Michel Thomas course off e-bay which is quite good and cheap. Got to get used to his accent first though but very good teacher. Here are a couple of links that may help for the free ones.

I tried the Rossetta Stone one as my sister has it but didn't like it much. Saying that she likes it so it's down to personal preference really. Adi�
