Yes you do need to be abit better at English, still, you are working full time which is good. You can do the course at night classes, contact your local adult education college ready for the september start. There may be a chance to do them there. How did you manage to drop out of school? You had to attend by law until you were 16,
why don't you contact the school you dropped out of, and see if they can help you? if you're 17, I'm sure it wasn't that many years ago!

Hi Sportys40

The government offer FREE City and Guilds Adult Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 which is equivalent to Maths and English GCSE A-C. I did this last year. However sessions are 2 hours per week for each subject. You should contact your local college for information. Alternatively the cheapest I found was ICS at approximately £250 per subject.

Good Luck
I teach at a college in north London and we offer GCSE Maths and English classes in the evenings (6:30 - 9:00) one evening a week. If you're under 19, you shouldn't have to pay anything. The courses are one year instead of two - quite intensive but with a real mix of people and the college environment is not like school. Colleges in your area should offer similar, but you do need to apply early as demand for GCSE retakes in Maths and English is very high.
