Advice please, i´d like a crack at getting an A-level in English language.

My main obstacle is i´ve been out of state education for 34 yrs now.
Do you think it´d be a good idea to try for my O´level again to refresh my mind, then go for the A-level.

I'd see if you could get hold of last year's exam papers from the place you are thinking of registering with and then see how difficult you find the questions. They should be a bit difficult as you'll spend a year or two working towards the exam. Good luck.

Why not go along to your FE college where I'm sure they will do an assessment of your abilities. You've probably learned much more about English in the last 34 years!!

I would certainly try for the GCSE rather than going stright for A level.

Capital I still required when referring to self.
Thats should read that's, being the abbreviated form of 'that is' - the apostrophre indicating the abbreviated version.
Perhaps basic Spanish would be the better option for you?

Hi Piggynose,
I am currently doing a fast track A'Level in English via distance learning. I have found it extremely difficult to find an exam centre that will allow me to sit exams and submit coursework. This is a commonly occurring theme, as I have been told by the school that are allowing me to sit my exams there. The distance learning providers are very quick to take your money but they do not include the exams or coursework submission.
