IT administrator password accusation!

Hi, i have been accused of logging onto the work system using the adminstrators password. I dont know how they found this info but i dont know the password and wouldnt know what to do if i had it !
I have been suspended from work with full pay while it is investigated. If it wasnt me then the person who used my PC and done it is still at work which really annoys me. In my job im in and out of the office all the time so anyone really could of used it but we have been having a new system installed and IT have been on and off my PC for a few days previous to the suspension. I have been working at the company for 10 years so why would i do it now? and what would i get out of it ? after i have never had any problems at work before. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I also posted something similar for my husband in the law thread, and got some good advice, my hubby thought about posting this in the actual job section to see if any other advice is out there

Perhaps your IT administrator is as stupid as mine. Every time he does a job on a computer he wanders off and forgets to log-off. So, until the computer is shut down everything is logged as him.

Can'y believe you have been suspended - you must work for a bunch of nutters.

it has been a whole week and my work have not contacted me :( it is the christmas party tonight and my wife and i are now not attending, im so angry with the way my work of 10years are treating me!

we work for a re manufacturing company of gearboxes for cars!

its not exactly the CIA yet i have been cast aside with no contact, although i now know it has been passed to a director to decide weather it should go to disciplinary!

I'm happy im innocent its just no fair! 10years of a clean slate and working hard and i get this! very confused and very angry with the company!

Check the ACAS site for advice.
Has the company given you a copy of their disciplinary code of conduct?
Are you in a union? If so, ask them for help and advice.
If not, is there someone who you trust to attend the next meeting with you, to offer support and maybe take notes.
Speak to someone from the CAB, as they are knowledgeable in these matters.

Check your household insurance, as many provide legal cover for employment matters, which can come in useful, depending on how matters develop.
On the computer side, at my work, if I were to log off everytime I left my desk, I would have to speak to IT to get back on the system again, it is that good! I think it is steam powered!!

My hubby as of tommorow will be re instated as is has been found there is a glitch within the IT department!

Charming, you would of thought that before it got to disciplinary they would of dug deeper and found this out long ago! well he is back to work tommorow thank god!
