Why is there no retirement age imposed on judges and politicians etc?

Polticians and Lawyers (which is what judges are) make laws that apply to everyone else but themselves.
A while ago Gordon Brown made a law that nobody could have more than a certain amount in their pension pot (cannot rememeber the figure).
The judges said that was not enough, so he ruled that it did not apply to judges.
