medical history

I have just been accepted for a job but my new employer wants to see my medical records, can they do this. I dont really like the thought of someone knowing everything about me as I had an std a few years ago I caught it off my fiance who was the only guy I had been with so not really my fault at all and now someone might be able to see all my history what can i do?
