Calm down wee al. I have been applying for a lot of jobs on S1jobs.com and lots of these are via Agencies, it seems to be a huge rip-off though. They call you next day saying they wish to discuss the job you applied for, then tell you they have lots of 'temporary' vacancies and would you consider this. They appear to have 'mislaid' the actual permanent job you applied for, and in any case they cant put you forward to their mystery client until you go in and register with them, you take time off and attend their office, then you hear nothing more from them if you dont wish to 'temp'.

Has anyone had any good experiences with these Agencies?

Do they really just want to make an hourly rate from people and advertise false vacancies to get you into their grasp?

Its really unfair.

Hiya weeal, aww!
It's sounding very familiar to someone who posted on here not so long back with the same experience!

hi skyep, Im getting so frustrated at these agencies and i firmly believe they are making up jobs on the web to get temps in. I have now registered with half of Glasgow lol and they all have the same story, and its not my CV and i pass all the tests with flying colours - they just want to make a continual buck.
Im having a wee quiet growl here as I apply for yet another possibly phantom job lol

how are you anyway?
Same happened to my hubby, he was perfect for a job and had been told he was short listed by agency! Only to find out when he phoned to find out more that the job had been given internally! They said that they would keep his CV and now he gets e.mailed daily with jobs that are not suitable by them!

Annoying ;0(

hi andrea, yeah sadly i think they must make money on how many people they have 'on their books' or something.

Im secretly hoping that someone who works in one of these Agencies might see this and prove me wrong lol
