In a job advert what does OTE mean?

Its probably obvious but I can't think of it.

On Target Earnings, which means what you'll be paid if you meet the set target.

Go careful because some companies do not even pay the basic if OTE are not met.

overtime extra? i.e. the basic wage is sh!te and you get the chance to bulk it up with lots of overtime!
