I know it will depend on how many hours are being worked but im on 17,000 at the moment for a 38 hour week and am going for an interview where 9.34 per hour is advertised. I would assume it will be either 38 or 40 hours per week. Im trying to work out if this is more or less than i am on at the moment.

Thanks in advance

lol based on a 48 week a year job you are on 9.32 at the moment....lol
Have you scrambled my eggs?
17000 / 48 weeks = 354.16 / 38 hours = 9.32...

its a pay rise i suppose...

Thanks guys, i know it might seem a straight forward question.

I have been using this calculator http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/hourly.ph p and this seems to say i would be earning 18,445 per annum! Bit confused with it all, i guess i will have to wait till the interview and discuss it then.

:)
Good grief. Your pc has a calculator.

Surely you can multiply 9.34 x 40 x 52?

And 9.34 x 38 x 52.
at the moment you earn 8.60 an hour based on 38 hours a week.

38 hours on 9.34 is 18,455.84
40 hours on 9.34 is 19,427.20

i hope the position isnt in accountancy :)

...but remember, Raggyroman that 2100 won't be a leap year.

Hope scrambledegg isn't going to be a maths teacher.

The calculations based on 48 weeks a year are flawed- they should be based on 52 weeks, assuming the 4 weeks' holidays are paid holidays.
