What happen's if a company goes bust? Does it's employee's get any salary owed to them or do they lose out?

It depends on whether there is anything to pay them with. They are fairly high up the pecking order so stand a better chance than most, but no assets = no pay
If the company has no money, there is a government scheme to give you the minimum number of weeks redundency at up to a set salary. I do not know about back pay and holiday pay. Are you in a union or try the CAB or similar place. Somebody else will probably come up with a better answer. Yusy one think from bitter experiane DO NOT TRUST THE RECIEVER , whatever he says.
